Web 2.0 - Being connected 24/7 is great for some people, but I personally like to be disconnected from everything so I can enjoy the people and world around me.
Library 2.0 - Libraries are constantly changing, and they must constantly change or they become stagnant and unable to serve the community. Community participation is vital as it gives people a feeling of ownership in their library. In turn, they are more supportive of their library and positive changes made to better serve them. I know some people do not like change, but we must move forward if we are to serve ALL patrons.

Thing #14
Doing a Google Book Search is easy, and I can see how it would benefit the library. I located several books on baseball, and by searching the table of contents, I was able to determine which book I thought would be more interesting. I will be using Google Book Search more often now.
Thing #13
I explored Del.icio.us, and I don't think it would be something I would use very often. I don't see this being extremely useful in a library setting.

Thing #12
I found an article on brain implants in monkeys that would allow them to use a robotic arm to retrieve marshmallows from various locations to eat. Researchers are hoping that this will help humans eventually in the use of prosthetics. One stumbling block is that the electrodes can become embedded in the brain causing scar tissue.
For my incentive, I choose the MP3 Player.

I explored Digg, and if you have the time, well you might want to check out this awesome coffee stirrer lamp. It really shows what we can do with recycling if we use our creative juices. We can create a work of art.

Thing #10
I've completed number 10 and have started my good reads list. This will certainly be very helpful to me in the future. I've got to go back to work now so I will do a link later.

Thing #7
Okay, I have explored Flickr, and found a picture of a tree that I really liked. I added it to my blog home page. I searched for Cades Cove images until just the right image grabbed my attention. I also found a way of doing a slideshow of Cades Cove images from Flickr. I will be visiting the park soon, and I might even take pictures to add of my own.
7 1/2 habits
I got so carried away with creating my blog, I really didn't comment on the 7 1/2 learning habits. I like beginning with the end in mind. It gives me an ultimate goal that I look forward to each time I try something new. One big thing for me is having fun while learning. It helps me enjoy what I am learning. Right now, I am moving on to things 7, 8, and 9 and I am confident that I will enjoy them.

Things 5 & 6
Whew, I found 5 and 6 a little challenging, but I persevered with a little help from a book nerd. I am learning so much already, and I think it will be great to be able to access my blog, and have all my feeds right there. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. I know I am certainly learning new tricks right now. I will be adding new feeds later when I have more time. Duty is calling right now, and I must get back to work.
